In the winter of 2000 Kathy reconnected with an old friend and neighbor, Sophie from Wellesley MA. Sophie was a senior citizen struggling with some challenges of staying in her home as she aged. Kathy offered to help her with miscellaneous chores to lighten her burden. Kathy mowed her lawn, trimmed her bushes, and cleaned her leaves. Eventually she started doing dump runs and helped clean out her garage. This continued for two years and friends of Sophie asked how she was managing so well , and Sophie passed along Kathy's contact information in the hopes that Kathy could help them as well.
Between 2001-2002 Kathy 's friend list grew by approximately 6 more clients. She was running a part time lawn service I snow plowing/house chore and enrand service business. Kathy brought in a partner to help, and the combination of their last names is how the business name RoVann Services came to be. From there and over the following 7 years she amassed approximately 20 accounts with a menu of services that she offered based on each client's need. Over the years she had helped several of her clients downsize, clean out homes, liquidate larger homes and relocate. This aspect of the services she provided was of particular interest to Kathy and in great need, especially to seniors and busy professionals and their families. It was at this time that Kathy 's business partner decided to retired. So, it made sense to change the focus of the services offered to primarily move management/move assistance in 2009.
Kathy learned all the details and intricacies of proper packing and downsizing. She expanded with the aspects of organizing donations for tax benefits to her clients, as well as valuable contacts for the appraisal and sale of unwanted/ unneeded items and distributions of items to other family members. With specific attention to each clients wants and needs, Kathy's unique approach to "one call does it all" services provides an ease to clients that do not want to deal with the confusion of multitudes of service providers doing odd jobs to accomplish the overall task. Kathy provides everything from full move assistance, organizing, packing, coordinating donations, assistance in bids for the physical move, full house clean out, prepping the property to list, as well as empty house cleaning for listing or the final walk through. This valuable range of services proves helpful to the client, families, real estate agents, attorneys and accountants handling the properties. The ease of dealing with one professional, vs several saves time, stress, energy and money.
